Mixing Metaphors
Here I am, letting my thoughts stream into a longer and winding way...
Am I mixing metaphors yet?
Oh how I have always loved mixed metaphors.
I know you aren't supposed to do such things.
It simply isn't kosher.
But the clashing tastes of sweet and salty, a bit of sour over there, and here a titch bitter,
Such wildness can't really be bad diet for a writer on occasion?
Everyone has to splurge sometimes.
So occasionally I binge on metaphors.
I don't actually get drunk.
Just a little tipsy.
You say the results of my binge are in the eyes of the beholders?
Well, maybe I do over do it just a bit.
Just a tiny tiny bit.
But if a drizzle is good for growing things, shouldn't a downpour be better?
So what if some of the new grass seed washes away.
Most of the seed, you say?
Oh. Well, I guess I should let sleeping canines stay right where they are.
