Create a sanctuary in your bedroom

The thought of a sanctuary in your bedroom is possibly unfathomable to most people. I'll admit it is even beyond my imagination. If you were to enter my bedroom, you'd find clothes everywhere, cosmetics on the dresser, my boyfriend's schedule for work lying in the floor and the bed unmade.

I honestly, would like my entire home to be a sanctuary that I come home to after a long day of work. A place I can wind down, worship the amazing gifts in my life, play with my child, make love to my boyfriend, and make plans for the future. Unfortunately, until I get our place cleaned and organized I fear all plans and goals will always be on hold. I, in fact, may never see any of my passions completed.

Therefore, it is important to find one room in the house to start with and begin transforming a sanctuary in time. Since the bedroom is the one room where rest is found, it is the best area to begin to create a place of calming and comfort within the home. Not to mention, it may lead to more intimate moments. All it requires is a little time and devotion to reinvent a clean, roomy, comfortable spot in the home.

Picture all clothing items hanging in the closet, papers organized in the office, the bed made with pedals at the edge of the bed, cosmetics in the bathroom and a moment to breathe while you enjoy the new and improved room. That would be nice wouldn't it. In all reality, the rose pedals more than likely will not always be there but the rest could be done daily.

Not all people see their sanctuaries looking similar to that which is why we are all different with many different ideas in life. Regardless of the look of the room, to achieve a bedroom sanctuary one would need to put time and effort into it. The first place to start would be picking things up and placing all things in their designated spots. Waking up a few minutes earlier may help reach this goal in the morning or if cleaning in the evening spend less time watching television. Creating a more calming area is possible with a little more decorative scenery added to the room. Do the rooms in a calming color with inspiring artwork. Also, candles can be place throughout the room. Whatever makes you happy will allow for place to worship.

Creating a sanctuary in the bedroom is not as unfathomable as I began off saying. I now understand that. I also, find it relaxing if my entire home is not my sanctuary because just having one room to escape in is a nice thought. Hence, if even for a simple thirty minute peaceful outlet I will submit myself to making that sanctuary and keeping it throughout the year. I invite you to come along with me in my journey and consider the sanctuary you'd like to see completed in your own home. Grab your paint, posters, pictures, candles, pedals, and any extra items desired. Together we will one day find peace and happiness i at least one room in our homes.
