World of Warcraft, is a game developed by a gaming company named "Blizzard". Blizzard has created many successful titles such as the Diablo series, Warcraft series, and my personal Favorite, Starcraft.
WoW, is an MMORPG (Massive Mutliplayer Online Role Playing Game), where you can chose to be one of two factions. Alliance which is humans, night elves, gnomes, dwarves and now Draenai. This faction seems to be more popular with the kids and LOTR fans(Lord of The Rings). The other and opposite faction is The Horde. The horde consists of Orcs, trolls, undead, tauren and now Blood Elves.
These two factions have been feuding since the debut of Warcraft in 1995. Both sides have their good and evils, but one thing they have in common is their extreme hatred for each other. This extreme war has created these things in game called Battle Grounds, which allow players to go against one another in Capture the Flag and King of the Hill like games.
Now that I have the explaination fo the game out of the way, now is the time I explain the ups and downs of this magnificent game.
Pros:
-This particular MMO is similar to that of Everquest, which is a main fan favorite of any MMO. Most players have soem background in EQ and are able to substain themselves in this large battlefield of players.
-The game focuses more around a non-party dependant game base, so leveling and achieving your goals can be achieved by yourself, or if you would like you can ask some of the many friendly players to join you in Instances and quests.
-Gold sellers haven't really affected the economy as of late and the company does what it can to prevent these spoilers of excitement as you will. Other titles such as FFXI has failed to stop this mass inflation of server economies. (Square Enix sucks.)
-Hitting over 8 million players this month, most likely a friend or coworker playes the game as well, so finding a nice safe secure environment to play in wont be a problem :)
-The graphics in the game are beautiful and the character avatars are well done. The beauty of this game is breath taking to say the least.
Cons:
-Some of the material on this game seem to be more than T rating in my opinion, like the Female nigh elf dance, and the majority of emotes contained.
-WoW is a bit violent and bloody in some content but overall, its pretty much just hacking and slashing of other players and mobs (monsters).
-Very time consuming so most likely it would affect your work, family and social life. If you don't agree with me, just talk to people who play this game :)
Like I stated beforehand, this game is amazing yet complicated. You have to be of sound mind to completely enjoy it to it's fullest.
So this game isnt for everyone.
Follow the ESRB rating and remember not to let the game get to your head too much :)
