When I think about heroes that make a difference in our lives, I do not think about politicians, celebrities or the manager of my company. These people are passing me by on the street, in the market I stand in the same queue where they do and most of them I don't even know them personally.
Here is a list of everyday heroes that should get more attention from us and more welcome words:
-
Grandmothers. Yes, exactly. They look after our children when we are too busy at work and also they help us out when we can not afford to hire a nanny. Grandmothers are giving their attention and support to both- children and grandchildren,- and they do it with unconditional love. They share their experience by giving to us their advices.
-
Firemen and policemen, and social workers. Although it is their duty to serve and work for us, they still are our everyday heroes, because working such works as they do and not loosing ethics, morals and strength of body and soul: it is a real miracle.
-
Teachers. Their ability to handle large number of students every day and to give them such valuable thing as knowledge: it is amazing. Most of us would prefer to stay quite, if we would have valuable knowledge of something. Maybe we would share this knowledge with our best friends and relatives, but won't share it with strangers.
-
Housewives. They don't show up very often outside the house, and most of the time they spend as follows: cleaning the house, educating their children, cooking and buying necessary stuff for the household. Why are they heroes? Because they have sacrificed their social life and career in order to take care about well-being of their family. Husband has always clean clothes, children have eaten a full stomach of tasty and healthy food, house is clean and other people from the household don't have to waste their time in doing such thing. This is why children can spend more time at school or to spend their spare time outside the house, and husband can focus on his job, work over-time and search for new ways to earn some extra money.
-
Children. They are amazing. With their innocence and the clean and undamaged perception of the world, they quite often can teach to us- adults,- how to become better people. "Daddy, why did you lie to mommy about your salary and that you are laid off?" or "Mommy, I want to become a taxi driver!" are some sentences that almost anyone of us have heard and that melted our hearts. Children demand from us to be honest, to be humans, and to focus more on values of life and not only success, money and egoistic thoughts and secret love affairs. They teach us that family is more important than other things, they remind us how responsible we are for those people who exist in our lives.
So- who is your everyday hero? Have you met one? Didn't you forget to reward him with a pleasant smile and "Thank You!" words?
