As I edit this article on 05 th June 2009, I am completing one-and-a-half years of writing at Helium. I have been a very active member of Helium right through this period and I have really enjoyed my involvement with Helium from several angles.

I am quite happy about my earnings from Helium, my contribution at Helium to its asset of articles, the level of quality rating my articles have achieved and my active contribution and involvement in the Helium Community discussion forums.

As an active member of Helium, here is my overview about the site:

PROS:

(1) Constant Evolution and Improvement:

Helium has been constantly evolving and growing when compared to a a couple of other sites where I write. Helium is excellent in keeping its writers hooked to the site by continuously offering newer and newer earning opportunities. The two Reward-athon programs gave an excellent incentive to authors to keep writing more and more articles to earn up-front payments during the promotion periods. Having tasted success and revenue growth opportunities through these two promotions, Helium decided to make upfront payment as a regular feature to all its qualifying authors now.

The Helium Marketplace is another area which has grown in leaps and bounds in the last years; plenty of authors have been able to compete and write to titles that buyers of articles are looking for and earn at "market rates" for the selected articles.

By judiciously linking regular rating of articles as a prerequisite for earnings (by setting 3-star rating requirement during Reward-athon and now 1 star rating for getting up-front payments), Helium is ensuring that rating of articles is being done by its members on a regular basis, thereby improving the prospects of good articles to reach up to higher slots.

(2) Prompt payment:

Helium has been extremely reliable in effecting the payments to its authors and there is virtually no complaint on this aspect.

(3) Excellent involvement and interaction with the writers' community:

Helium has been extremely active in interacting with the writing community through the discussion forums. Helium's staff and coordinators are very prompt in responding to members' queries, concerns and suggestions. In four out of five occasions, complaints and suggestions are taken by Helium in all earnestness and corrective actions and improvements are put into action.

Helium has a very high democratic culture in allowing discussions in the community boards where sometimes even
