Office Christmas Tree

Characters:
SUSAN
BETH
LARRY

Scene:
(SUSAN along with friend and co-worker BETH, arrive late for the office Christmas party. Shortly after, they approach the company Christmas tree to drop off presents and find a very unusual surprise waiting for them.)

BETH: (Laughing and pulling Susan away from the buffet table) Come on Susan, you don't want to miss this. They did something different with the tree this year.

SUSAN: This better be good. There's only a few pieces of ham left and I'm hungry.

BETH: (Excited) Oh believe me, you are going to love this!

(As they approach the twelve foot tall Christmas tree, SUSAN stops and gasps in surprise while BETH tries to stifle her laughter. Wrapped half way up the tree in blinking Christmas lights is a man in a santa suit partially supported by a tree limb between his legs. He is asleep and snoring soundly.)

SUSAN : (Both shocked and humored) Oh my goodness! Is that man alright up there? Why didn't anyone get him down? They all just keep smiling and looking at him. (Now feeling ashamed, she turns to BETH) Who did this? What a horrible thing to do to someone on Christmas Eve! It's not right!

BETH: (Laughing harder at Susan's reaction) No Susan, it's not like that. You haven't heard the story. It's Larry!

SUSAN: Larry? That creep from Human Resources?

BETH: The one and only. It seems he showed up about two hours ago very drunk and was causing quite a scene.

SUSAN: That can't be good.

BETH: He came stumbling in with some kind of wire hanger attachment over his santa hat with mistletoe on the end of it.

SUSAN: Now I know that can't be good.

BETH: Even worse than that. He started walking over to each girl at the party until they were under the mistletoe and he would insist on a kiss! (Laughing again) Can you just imagine?

SUSAN: Somehow I'm not surprised, Larry is always doing things like that. A real "hands on" guy if you know what I mean. I'm surprised they even let him come to the party. How guys like that keep their jobs I will never know.

BETH: Come on now, you know why. He's the boss's son remember.

SUSAN: How can I forget. That's the only reason he gets away with what he pulls with the women in the office.

BETH: (Continuing) Here's the best part: Apparently, he was so infatuated by that new girl from Data Processing, you know, the gorgeous blond, that he tried to get a kiss from her three times. How she put up with it, I'll never know. The third time she said no, she also said that if he'd get her the star off the top of
