Poetry: Bedtime poems for children

Grammy's little Stinker Bear, I loved you from the start

Your little nodding head falls sweet, just above my heart

Can you hear my heart's love beating as I kiss your precious head?

Will you feel my arms around you as I lay you in your bed?

Grammy's little Stinker Bear, my precious little man;

Today you've gone exploring, round and round your small legs ran

As you rescued maidens in distress, then flew to outer space

With beautiful expressions flitting o'er your handsome face

But now the day has gone away and night is here instead

The time has come for little boys to snuggle in their bed

A prayer is said, a kiss is given, a bedtime story read

Now Grandma's little Stinker Bear and his fav'rite teddy, Ned

Will wander off to sleepy land for adventures there instead.

Sweet dreams my little Stinker Bear; sleep well, my child and deep

As angels guard you through the night while you are fast asleep

And when you wake up in the morn, my precious little dear

Don't fret, my child for you can know, your Grammy will be here.
