Catching a plane or heading on a road trip to Orlando? This family-oriented town won't disappoint! Relax, refresh, and enjoy time with one another in the city that has something for everyone.
Let's start with the obvious - Universal Studios Orlando (1000 Universal Studios Plaza, Phone: 407-363-8000, Web: Universalorlando.com) is a draw for children and adults of all ages. Whether your family is looking to ride the movies, eat or shop for themed souvenirs - you'll find enough for a full day of fun at one of Orlando's main theme parks. Looking for a bigger thrill? Head to Islands of Adventure to take on the roller coasters not as family-friendly for the younger crowd with height requirements, however, a great deal of fun for teenagers and young adults! Located near Universal Studios Orlando (same address, phone and web!).
Another Orlando favorite theme park is SeaWorld. This marine adventure park offers rides, animal encounters and a multitude of family-friendly shows. Fairly new to the park is the show "Believe" killer whales performing choreography like you've never seen before this is a show not to miss! Children and adults of all ages can enjoy a day at this park with stimulating exhibits at every turn. Easy-to-find, SeaWorld is located at 7007 SeaWorld Drive (407-351-3600, Web: SeaWorldOrlando.com).
Theme parks abound in the Orlando area, but one that stands alone is Discovery Cove. This park was established to provide visitors a way to interact more closely with dolphins. It has grown to much more, including a bird aviary, shark habitat and coral reef that is home to over 10,000 marine animals. Discovery Cove offers all-inclusive admission packages that include swimming with dolphins, snorkeling with the fish and hand-feeding the birds. If you're traveling with animal-lovers (we'd recommend age 6 and up), this is a spot to really make the trip. Head over to 6000 Discovery Cove Way (Phone: 407-370-1280, Web: Discoverycove.com) to join the fun however, be sure to make reservations because only 1000 guests are allowed in each day.
Ready for a day of exploration? Head over to the Orlando Science Center located at 777 East Princeton Street (Phone: 407-514-2000, Web: Osc.org). From pre-schooler to grandmother, the Science Center has something for everyone. Exhibits such as NatureWorks and DinoDigs are core areas that shouldn't be missed. Also, a trip to the Science Center with children isn't complete unless you visit KidsTown, an interactive area for the younger
