Snow Pirates
David - 9
Charlie - 5
7:30am first Tuesday of December
David (slumping down the stairs rubbing his eyes): Mom I don wanna go to school I don feel good.
Mom: Are you sure you want to use that sick day?
David: Yeah, why?
Mom: Because I might make you stay in bed and you won't be able to play in the snow!
David: What? Oh cool! There must be a foot out there! Charlie Charlie!
Mom: No, wai... Oh well.
Dad (Enters in business attire): Well they're sure happy -morning- I wonder how hard it would be to convince the boys to shovel the driveway.
Mom: nearly impossible.
Dad (as Charlie and David dance down the stairs): Watch this.
David and Charlie: Dad Dad! There's snow and there's... it's snowing... no school... gonna build snowmen... snowball fight!
Dad: That sounds like so much fun you guys, but Daddy has to go to work today. Oh, but there's so much snow in the driveway I'm not sure if I can get out!
Charlie: Then don't.
Dad: I can't stay, my boss will be really mad at me! I have an idea, maybe you guys can go out and shovel the snow out of the way!
David: That doesn't sound like fun.
Charlie: Nuh uh
Dad: But boys, don't you know what's so great about the first snow of the season?
Charlie: No...
Dad: You heard all those cars going by last night didn't you? Did you hear that really loud one?
David: Yeah, so?
Dad: That was the snow pirates!
Charlie: Snow Pirates?
David: Yeah right!
Dad: No, really! On the night of the first snow of the season the snow pirates drive around in their minivans burying treasure in everyone's driveways and whoever shovels the driveway gets to keep whatever they find! It could be gold, silver, diamonds, or even a dollar!
David: Yeah, right, Dad, I'm not shoveling the driveway!
Charlie: Please, Dave, please! I wanna diamond! Let's go dig for em!
David: Oh fine! But mom better give me a dollar!
Charlie (Dragging David to the door): No, Dave, the pirates left it, 'member?
Dad (to Mom): I told you I could do it, I'd be willing to bet they dig up the whole neighborhood!
Mom: You're so smart, don't forget to leave me some cash for them when they get in, they'll be pretty bummed.
Dad: Not for long, next time I'll be sure to hide something out there.
Mom: In any case, you'd better go supervise or else they -will- get carried away.
