Ridding the Internet of porn: Is it a realistic objective?

I have a hard time convincing myself, let alone others, on the virtues of pornography. Like the 'oldest profession in the world' pornography feasts on human instincts. It may take the beauty of sexual relationships and push the bounties of common decency, and that being said, as human, we have endless opinions on subject matters that are controversial by their very nature. It doesn't make them right or wrong just subject to personal feelings. You may be appalled by it, fascinated by it, stimulated by it, and even make a buck or two on it, but like the sun, like it or not, it will always 'rise' (pardon the pun), no matter what your personally feelings are.

Ridding pornography from the Internet would be improbable if not impossible. Not because it is the right or wrong thing to do but because freedom of speech and choice is the greatest gift we possess as humans. You can love something, hate it, or care less, but the choice is yours! There are countries, religions, cultures, organizations, etc., that have demonized pornography and condemned its existence from its vocabulary, and rightly so if that is their leaning. On the other side of the coin, there are countries, religions, cultures, organizations, etc., that have neither embraced it, endorsed it or condemned it, leaving the controversy very much up in the air. Even more of a problem facing the eradication of pornography in general, let alone on the Internet, is the greatest reason for its growth, capitalism! Can we argue the very existence of the almighty dollar as the most significant factor in the continuation of pornography? Look at the 'world's oldest profession' (Good luck wiping that one of the face of the earth!). Like any product in an economic world, supply and demand dictates acceptance in the marketplace and the 'demand' for pornography is being 'supplied' based on it's very significant position in the evolutionary chain of human instincts. It says something for all those entrepreneurs out there that want to cash in on the expression, 'show me the money and I'll show you mine' (Pornography can be funny you know!). Another great example is the statement 'Where there's a will, there's a way. Actually regarding pornography it should go, Where there's a Willy" there's a way! (Now that's funny!)

There are very strong opinions on pornography and its very controversial nature, from strong religious beliefs to those where nothing is sacred. You cannot account for individual taste in sexual preferences
