You'll know your husband loves you when he seems to put so much effort into ensuring your happiness. He does everything in his power to make sure you feel loved each day. And you'll know your husband loves you when he seems as if he's not trying at all. Loving you comes natural to him. It's as if being in love with you is part of who he is and his sense of self would be lost without it.
You'll know your husband loves you because he thinks you're beautiful. He thinks you're beautiful, not only when you are all dolled up. He thinks you're beautiful when you are a miserable mess, sick in bed. He'll even think you're beautiful when your wisdom teeth have been extracted and your cheeks are the size of baseballs, you're drooling blood at the mouth, and can only speak in a slur. That's how I know.
You'll know your husband loves you because he shares with you. He'll always want you to have the good plate of food at dinner. He'll switch plates with you even though you are the one that ordered the smelly, slimy entree. That's how I know.
You'll know your husband loves you because he misses you when you're not around. He'll call you from work just to hear you say "hello." He needs that extra fuel to get him through a rough day and the only fuel that gets him going is the sound of your voice. That's how I know.
You'll know your husband loves you because he is proud of you, not only from your successes, but also your failures. He'll get you flowers when you land that job you've been vying for. But he'll also get you a card to explain how proud of you he is even if you've been rejected from a job you've been praying for because he wants you to know that, no matter what, he's proud of you for trying. That's how I know.
You'll know your husband loves you because you trust him. You trust him because he gives you no reason not to. He let's you know what he's doing, not because you ask, but because he wants you to know. You've never caught him in a lie or even attempting to do so. Your husband is honest with you because he loves you. That's how I know.
You'll know your husband loves you because he's your partner in life. You two work as a team and there's no team he'd rather be a part of. You do not use him as a crutch and he does not use you as one. The effort your team puts forth makes the marriage stronger each day. That's how I know.
You'll know your husband loves you because he tells you. He tells you everyday, not because you ask to hear it, but because he wants to say it. If he's not a man of words, he'll tell you by showing you in the small ways that you appreciate. Husbands let their wives know they love them, not because they want to be appreciated, but because they just do.
That's how we'll know.
