Your wedding is a personal, sacred moment for you and beloved to join together for the rest of your lives, it should be as unique and special as your love for each other. Winter is an exceptional time of year, one of the most beautiful settings and a chance to add those special touches that will make your wedding one to remember - not just for you, but your guests as well.
Picture this: A gorgeous white gown with fur trimming.... a backdrop of silvery white snow and diamond-like icicles; a perfect winter wonderland, for you and your husband-to-be.
Winter may seem unconventional as far as weddings go, but the priceless pictures will be memories to share for years to come. When it is winter, try getting married outside, the added novelty of wearing luxury coats and trimmings will add to the festivities.
Try themes such as:
Winter wonderland.
Ice Princess. (Complete with carriage instead of wedding car.)
Swan lake. (with ice sculptures.)
And many more...
Winter also has other advantages, food will not spoil, flowers will stay fresh and snow will only coordinate with your colour scheme. Winter flowers are also a lovely idea for your bouquet, a touch of evergreen will be a unique addition to the floral arrangements. Other advantage include, off-peak prices on photographers, caterers and venues.
If you are looking for something even more unique and that little extra ordinary.
Try:
Ice skating weddings. (A beautiful frozen lake with you and your honey getting married in the centre -perfect for hockey fans or figure skating lovers.)
Christmas weddings. (Combining the two celebrations is wonderful, and he'll never forget your anniversary!)
Night time weddings. (The early darkness mean you can have a gorgeous twilight lit wedding, sunset or pure night lit with fairy lights under a gorgeous full moon. Ahhh...)
Winter of course, does not always mean snow and cold weather, in other parts of the world the cold may be non-existant. Perhaps a wedding abroad is something you have imagined but always thought too expensive. Winter time is also off-peak season for holiday makers so air fares and hotel prices are often cheaper this time of year, the weather is still often a lot warmer than back home and you could have your perfect day on a sandy beach, a cliff at sunset or near your favourite landmark.
Remember, your wedding is your choice, any theme or idea you have can be actualized if you just talk openly with your planners or caterers. People in the wedding business are there to help you, to give you the day you deserve and have dreamed about. So never think something is too unconventional, go for it, and make your dream day the best day it can be.
