Our Biggest Fan
At every game he was there
cheering from the stand,
when we were sure we could not win
he yelled on and on "You Can".
We often felt like giving up
and throwing down the bat,
but there he was, our biggest fan
"Son, we'll have none of that".
Every time we touched the dirt,
we'd hear the big man shout.
If he wasn't cheering from the stands,
he was behind the team's dugout.
He cheered us on and now I know
It wasn't winning or losing to Tim,
He was our biggest fan you see,
and we all were winners to him.
Today we say goodbye from here
and it's so hard to see him go.
The nicest man I've ever known,
The biggest fan he'll ever know.
Last night through tears to God I cried,
"We can't play without him there to cheer".
It was then in my heart I know I heard God say,
"Son, the view of the field is much better from here".
