Within the celebrity marriage of Victoria and David Beckham, there are a few ground rules. First and foremost, Victoria will not allow for a female personal assistant to her husband, David. She also states that paparazzi photographs must be staged together. Sweetly, she also requests that whenever David is away from the family, he call before their three children go to bed each night.

Ground rules may be the way to civilly live in a celebrity marriage. As communication is key for all marriages - even those out of the spotlight - celebrity marriages face the added stress of tabloids and public opinion. Having these "guidelines," as Victoria calls them, ensures for a trustworthy and reliable spouse.

Victoria believes that having a female assistant can create doubt in the eyes of the public that her husband is faithful to her. Especially when a personal assistant to a celebrity is considered part of the family due to the amount of time they spend with the celebrity. By eliminating this problem Victoria is also eliminating a whole world of rumors that can be associated with it.

The second ground rule may seem somewhat concerning. However, at events, Victoria and David have agreed to take pictures together instead of separately. This allows for photographs that show the couple takes the time to attend events together. Couples who are notably doing things such as going out to dinner, special events or other dates, are much stronger in the celebrity world than those who are alone. The tabloid target is inevitably the solo spouse.

It also is helpful when children are involved to see their family and living environment as a stable one. Knowing that their father will continuously call each night regardless of where he may be globally allows for a comfort zone within the family boundaries. It also leaves Victoria feeling less like a single parent on the days when David is absent.

But would ground rules really work in a, dare I say, "normal relationship?" Imagine the wife of a high-powered executive saying that he can no longer have a female secretary in his workplace. Also, all photos must be taken together at events and he may not pose with anyone else. Would this really work?

But that, my friends, is what make celebrity marriages a little piece of a fantasy. Constantly being in the public eye calls for an illusion act that David Beckham is the perfect husband, when in fact, Victoria Beckham is the perfect conductor of the marriage.
