We are sharing
a cup of coffee.
As he talks,
his voice fades out.
In that fleeting moment,
I see him as
everyone else does.
Rose colored glasses gone.
Twisting my wedding band,
I look at his.
I'm so in awe,
that this man,
is my husband.

The lines on his face are as branches on trees.
I remember my son being bounced on his knees.
His knuckles are

He is heavier now middle aged
He tells me I am beautiful.
My mirror says he lies.
But then I see he tells the truth
in the mirror of his eyes.

My husband is my lifeline,
My very dearest friend.
The man i vowed to give my soul,
Until the very end.

The depths of my heart that only he can reach
Others have attempted, but drowned in the end
