Before I start, let me say that this article is not an attack on Christianity(as the majority are good people), but merely my ignorant countrymen. This is an absolutely absurd question. More absurd then the question itself, are the alarming amount of yes votes and articles. Apparently although our great country taught you how to read, the majority of people here failed to ever read our founding documents. I am sure many people have already stopped reading this article for two main reasons: 1-they have read things like our constitution and know exactly where I am heading(a history lesson) 2-the unintelligent.
Before I start the history lesson for the uninformed masses of my countrymen, let me clarify one thing none of our founding documents contain any reference to Yahweh or Jesus. In case you did not know, and most Christian American's do not, the word "God" itself does not automatically refer to the supernatural being you chose to worship. I understand that most will say but the bible says "the one true god" and that makes them correct for assuming that this was the framers definition. The same people will also undoubtedly say that Columbus discovered, even though Nordic Vikings and the Chinese reached different parts of North America first. Enough with the cheap shots, now onto what they were supposed to teach you in school.
I will start with the founding fathers and their intended definition of the word God. Some of the founding fathers were without a doubt Christians. Unfortunately, the majority of them were also members of various secret societies (a proven fact) whose memberships worship varying 'occult' nature gods. The one's who were strict Christians, and there were some, without a doubt liked the fact that the Bible condones slavery. Then you have people like Thomas Jefferson and others that were not Christians at all. To say that they had a straightforward definition of "God" or "Creator" in mind when setting up the country, would be extremely short sighted and flat out stupid. Another important aspect to look at, is why they started the country in the first place. Religious toleration many will shout, unfortunately I did not ask why the pilgrims sailed over in the Mayflower. For better or worse the wealthy men of the colonies were essentially tired of paying taxes to crown.
Second lets go over the Constitution of the United States. How many times do you see a reference to a Christian God? That is correct not once, but we do see the use of the word
