The Watchers

Forging forward through fetid memories
Seeing senseless acts through ceaseless centuries
Humanity hungers for heroism and is denied
Society seeks this schism it cannot find
This rancid rift infecting reality rapidly
Finding fault in every faculty
We watch and weep and wait and wonder
All the while the world is set asunder

Differences dictating divisions of self
Color and concepts, corruption of wealth
Prodding fingers pointed pointlessly
Anger rising ranting recklessly
Our focus forced and fading fast
People ponder little of lessons past
We watch and weep and wait and wonder
All the while the world is set asunder

Money moves malicious mountains
Fickle followers flow like fountains
Never knowing natures nuance
Bringing blights bereft of balance
We watch and weep and wait and wonder
We sit and stare and sigh and ponder
All the while the world is set asunder
All the while OUR world is picked and plundered
