I love, love, LOVE this topic. I have been married 32 years, have had any kind of male/female [normal] experience there is, and if you want answers, I've got them. I've got answers for both men and women, and after thinking about it, I'd have to say the number one most asked guy question is:
Q 1: "Why does she just go off when I'm talking to her, and run off angry and crying, only to show up later, and when I ask what I did wrong, she says If you don't know, I'm not going to tell you'. What the heck does that mean, and what did I do wrong?"
A 1: The answer is "hints". Women are used to hinting things to other women, the hints get noticed, and acted on; but as a gender, you guys do not have this ability. Your wife or girl hints at you over and over again, you don't "get it", so she gets angry and then deeply disappointed. She may even take it [erroneously] as a sign that you do not care about or love her anymore. Thus the "If you don't know" remark. It is up to you to get your wife to understand, that as a man you don't understand hints, and is that why she's upset? Ask her gently, and leave enough time for her to pause between statements before continuing.
Q 2: Why is it she shouts and screams, laughs and cries a few seconds later; throws things at me, and blames me for every little thing when she has her period? I really hate that!
A 2: Women are made by nature to have babies, and because of that, from puberty on, our bodies go through drastic changes every month. Whereas a female body makes a certain hormone all month long, and little of the second, the levels are switched as the inner environment to nurture a child is made. This drastic switch is the reason some women act a little crazed and unpredictable.
In terms a man can understand, let's talk cars. Oh, and rockets. Both use fuel, both fuels have the same derivatives to them, but that is where the similarity ends. If someone forced you to pilot a rocket to the moon, and all you knew were muscle cars, you too would wig out.
Q 3: Why is it my wife yaks on her cell, then hangs up, and feels it necessary to tell me every single stupid, unrelated piece of nonsense she and her friend just said? And WHY does she feel that the best time to tell me is when my news or sports come on? And what's with the whole listening-thing anyway? Listen to what?
A 3: Here we are talking about communication, and in case no one's realized it, men don't know the meaning of it. I'll admit that telling one's husband every little thing
