Sarah Palin is attractive, even stately looking and as a man someone I would not mind taking out on a date.
However, in her current, down home, folksy manner she uses to wow the crowds has me cringing as if she ran her nails down a blackboard. It has left me scratching my head and wondering about the intelligence of the Republican big wigs who think she has a chance of making it in 2012. Or, the thought amongst them may be that Barack Obama is facing challenges that no other President of the United States
has ever faced in its entire history except possibly that seen in FDR's presidency that he will surely fall on his face. In such an instance any talking head would do and even more the better if they have a very appealing appearance. Also, they too can play the "history" card as the first woman president.
Perhaps, it is not such a dumb plan at all, but a real stroke of genius. Knowing that the American public is a sucker for cutesy sound bites, are in love with Barbie and Ken images and they have already demonstrated their fondness for "hockey mom" and "snowmobiling stud". I am thinking that by next Christmas there will be no room in the doll aisles of the toy stores for Barbie or Ken dolls. Yes, they will be packed with Sarah and Todd dolls with extra outfits just like those that were purchased by the RNC. Plus there will also be some extra ancillary items, a snowmobile and snowmobile suit for Todd while Sarah will have a chic fur jacket, sleek leather knee high boots with a rifle for her moose hunt. Just think of the pandemonium caused in the aisles with the hordes racing through the store in search of Sarah and Todd on the next Black Friday.
All poking fun aside, I believe Sarah can be a formidable opponent in the next election if the environment is such that life has not improved for the American electorate over these next four years. I think that over these next couple of years you will witness that Sarah has not retreated to native Alaska
like the glacier which had receded from the lower 48 states. No, this small town girl got a taste of the big city and she likes the stage lights far too much to stay at home. This hockey mom can sense the moment instinctually like all political animals can. She will not drop the hunt that is for sure.
I think that within the next two years a far more polished Sarah will be touted around at Republican events. I may even dare to suggest she hire a speech coach. Her current cute talk can wear thin pretty quickly on the campaign trail.
The faux pas afforded a Vice Presidential nominee will not go much unnoticed and will be magnified by her opponents for the Republican nomination. Sarah cannot afford any further gaffs as she dreams of being the first woman President of the United States of America. Now that is a dream surely any former beauty queen would want to aspire towards.
