Drama Games and Warm Ups.

You Started It:

In this game the group has to sit in a circle. One member of the group stands outside the room then another person is chosen to do random movements that the rest of the group has to follow. Then the person outside has to come back in and guess who the group is following. This game helps with group work skills, attention, cooperation, rhythm, trust and also helps to build relationships.

Who Moved?

In this game the group has to sit in a circle. One member of the group stands outside the room and certain people in the room are moved around. The person outside then comes back in and has to work out who has moved. This game helps with observation, concentration, group work skills and it also helps with remembering names.

Zap, Zing, Block!

In the drama game style warm up the group gets into a circle and an "electricity bolt" is passed around. You can only pass it onto the next person by saying the word 'Zap'. If you want to fire it across the room you have to say 'Zing' and then the person's name you are firing it at. Finally that person can block a 'Zing' by saying 'Block' and the "bolt" returns to the person who had fired it and they must 'zap' it away. People are knocked out if they are too slow or they get confused and do or say the wrong thing. This game helps you to focus, it also helps reactions, remembering names and teamwork skills

Bang, Bang Duck!

!n this game the group has to stand in a circle. One member of the group stands in the middle and randomly 'shoots' members of the group and says 'Bang'. The person that was 'shot' then has to duck and the two people on either side of him/her have to 'shoot' each other and say 'Bang'. The slowest person is knocked out and has to sit down. People are also knocked out if they say or do something wrong. People are knocked out until only two people are left, they stand back to back and the fastest person to 'shoot' on the chosen trigger word wins. This game creates tension, helps with focus and reactions.

Count Me In:

In this game the group has to count up to the highest number possible. Randomly members of the group have to stand up and say a number counting consecutively up from one. If more than one person stands up and says a number at the same time the counting must start again from one. This game helps with concentration, pace, focus and whole group awareness.
