Best haircuts for fine hair

If you have fine hair you may be thinking of finding a hairstyle which will help make it appear thicker. The way to achieve this is to adopt a good haircut which can add volume and lift to your locks. The haircuts described below are known to have positive benefits for the appearance of fine hair, and may lift your spirits at the same time if you choose to sport one of them.

The Layered haircut.

By layering your hair you can add instant va va voom to your locks. You may be reticent to cut off any of your hair if you feel that you don't have a great deal of it to begin with, but layers can lift your hair so that volume and the appearance of thickness is created.

If you have a square or round face accompanying your fine hair by beginning your layers just around the area above your ears, or just below your jawline, you can help to elongate your face at the same time as making your hair look fuller, thus giving you a balanced appearance.

For those of you who have oblong, or triangular faces you could begin your layers higher up on your head to start adding fullness in this area too.

The Bob.

This style has been very popular since the 1920's and never seems to fall out of fashion. As the bob requires that the wearer has short, to medium length hair it is most suitable for people with fine hair, as longer styles can tend to produce a very flat look for thinner hair.

If you have hair fine hair and a round or square face then ending your bob just below your chin level will suit you the best. If you have a slightly longer shaped face then you can afford to have a shorter bob that ends above your jaw line.

The Urchin Cut.

This style is another which is timeless, being worn by both men and women and so being androgynous. With an urchin cut hair is cut short and razored to frame the face while adding texture. It can be accompanied by layers too, which will add to any volume which is created.

Curls and Waves.

By either curling your hair or adding waves you can significantly increase the appearance of your hairs fullness. You can achieve this in a variety of ways from using heated electrical appliances or having a perm to twisting your hair when damp around rags and leaving them in to dry overnight this way.

Fine hair need not be a burden, in fact, it can be a wonderful asset in the summer by allowing its owner to remain cooler than their thicker haired friends.

Creating a style that will suit you personally while making your hair look like it is more abundant than it is should not be difficult. Instead it should be fun and give you a chance to experiment until you are completely satisfied with the style that you have chosen.
