Evolution, God and the classroom

Teaching intelligent design does not pose any problems provided that it is taught in a theology, mythology, history, or geography class. However, the thought of intelligent design has no place in a science class. Even though evolution still has many unsolved questions, this is something based off of fact and science. Therefore, it is permissible to teach evolution in schools and in science class.

It only causes a load of problems for intelligent design to be taught in schools. Also, teaching intelligent design would be a clear violation of the separation of church and state. The issue of intelligent design would mainly apply to Christianity.
However, not everybody practices Christianity. I do not practice Christianity. I am a non-Christian. I was born and raised a Buddhist. So far, I am happy with my religious faith. I do not think I plan on converting to another religious faith in the near future.

The most common intelligent design theory would be "Adam & Eve." There have been many people wanting that theory to be taught in the school curriculum. I do not have a problem as long as it is not taught in a science class. There are no scientific facts to support that theory. Plus, the Adam & Eve theory is only applicable towards Christianity. Teaching Adam & Eve in a non-theology or non-mythology class would be a clear violation of the separation of church and state.

It would be forcing one set of religious views upon everybody else's. Plus, it would be a violation of freedom of religion. Teaching Adam & Eve would be saying that one religion is right and the other religious faiths are wrong. While Christianity is the world's largest religion, it is not the world's absolute religion. There lies one of the flaws of teaching intelligent design.

This theory has its own sets of flaws and contradictions. From a scientific standpoint, Adam & Eve is a very contradicting theory. It is mentioned that Adam and & Eve were the first two human beings on the face of the earth. Eve had come from Adam's rib. Biologically, it would make Eve the daughter of Adam.

Their sons Cain and Abel had wives. It is understandable that Adam and Eve had those two sons. However, where did the wives come from? There lies a contradiction. By accepting this theory, we come to accept that we are the products of incest. Plus, there are documented problems recorded with interbreeding.

For that reason, it would not be feasible to be teaching intelligent design in the classroom.
