I never watched political election
2008 was an exception
which captured my attention

the "Yes we can" slogan was blowing
self reassurance was glowing
A message of hope was flowing

The "Yes we can" slogan reached our soul
which played a role
in defining our goal

Again, and again, I watched closer
as the strings of "hope" got stronger
To abolish fear monger

(The power of hope unveiled
cynicism and fear paled
as king of hope prevailed)

Yes, now I know
"hope" makes dedication grow
it acts like bone marrow
to feed a life and make it glow

At the campaign's starting moment
there wasn't many endorsements
"hope" was the only element

It is a clear definition
"hope" is positive connotation
an origin of destination

"Hope" teaches serenity
triggers vitality
embraces unity

The hope message spread
on blue and red
as the light was shed

All in one voice
they hoped and rejoiced
as they made a clear choice

tears of joy was flowing like champagne
to celebrate the gain
at the end of the campaign

King of "hope" prevailed
the crowd hailed
victory ship sailed

A treasured memory
You set a goal to victory
America made history

may God bless your administration
I pray for your protection
to safely lead your beloved nation
