Poetry: Pain from love

Love's Broken Promises

I should've known from the start
But you were good as you played your part
And so to you I gave my heart
Never quite knowing that you'll tear it apart

You made it looked quite so easily
Falling in love and wooing me
You told me not to give up on what must be
That if I stay with you then I'll truly see

How beautiful love is, if only I let it be
Together you and I, we'll start our family

Never letting anyone shake our family tree
You said we'll be forever in love until eternity

Being in love with you was like a ray of sun
Piercing through those days that we weren't having none
And even though we had only just begun
To be in love with you was truly a lot of fun

We were so good to each other
I thought we would've always be together
But you broke your promises, when you went ahead and took another lover
Now there can never be, you and I forever

To me you broke your every promise
And even though you also broke my heart, it's still you that I sadly missed
I never knew that such pain ever before exist
Until you came along with your pretty smile and your irresistable kiss

Now my world is all crazy, it's turned upside down
And all because it's with my heart that you chose to mess around
Leaving me broken hearted and standing on shaky grounds
An empty shadow of my former self, the real man he can't be found

    You left me for another,
But I do not feel pain.
    I feel nothing.
    I am numb.
    Standing in the snow
    The wind blew against me.
    But
