are no less a person that anyone else. They are loved by God as much as the next person, and their sin is no different than the sin committed by someone whom struggles with pride, greed, or any other form of lust. We all have our vices, and those in the homosexual community are no different and should not be treated as such. However, the danger today is in the acceptance of homosexuality as a healthy, perfectly normal lifestyle. By labeling it as such, society is openly promoting sin and therefore is in direct defiance to God. When a person accepts the homosexual lifestyle as legitimate, especially from a Judeo-Christian perspective, that person is directly contrasting the Word of God and, in turn, are saying that their opinion matters more than God's commands. This is an extremely dangerous position to be in. To acknowledge a vice as a sin which needs correcting and striving to change is one thing, to completely defy God and label His commands as wrong are entirely another.
One of the great arguments today in favor of homosexuality is the mounting evidence that there are certain people who are born in a way which can incline them more toward being homosexual. They argue that a loving God would never condemn someone if He created them to fail His will. Unfortunately for those behind this argument, their rationalization is very flawed and can be answered quite easily. For one, the Bible specifically mentions the fact that man is born into sin. As the Bible states, we are all sinful from the moment we exit the womb. Unlike other religions that believe man is inherently good and has to learn how to be bad, Judaism and Christianity teach that man has to learn how to be good. That those who struggle with homosexuality were born with certain tendencies should be of no surprise to those of Judeo-Christian faith. The same has been proven with many alcoholics and drug-addicts, yet one would be hard pressed to think of a time they have ever heard that a lifestyle of alcoholism or drug addiction is perfectly acceptable and healthy. The Bible condemns drunkenness as well, even though God full-well knew that there were those who would be born with that particular addiction. In fact, Jesus tells us to, "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matt. 5:48) Even with the full knowledge that we are all sinners, that we all are born into different vices, different addictions, we are still called to recognize them as sin, and therefore to strive to change them. Just as the alcoholic or drug addict is to strive to overcome their addiction, the homosexual is called to change their lifestyle. Born into it or not, we all have the choice to fight our primal urges. That goes the same for everyone, homosexual or not. We were all born with a sinful human nature, and we are all called to deny that nature. Just because we were born some way, does not mean we are excused from our sin. We are all offered a different way, and we are all given the will to follow it. For denying that, we have no excuse.
