Is he a shy guy or is he just not interested?

Sometimes if can be difficult to tell if a guy is too shy to ask you out, or if he's just not interested. But, by performing this simple test, you can find out whether he's slightly withdrawn and afraid to ask you out, or if he's simply not attracted. Here's what to do:

Act extremely friendly towards the guy in question the next time you see him. Flirt, laugh and make sure you have a good time. Your non verbals should all point to the fact that you're up for a date. Then comes the sneaky part. The very next day, ignore him. Act friendly and polite, but like you are busy and need to be somewhere-even if you're just headed home to watch Grey's Anatomy. If he's not knocking himself out to get your number, you have your answer.

He's not interested, and you can move on.

The reason it works is simple. It:

Lets the man know that you're available right up front. And also that he won't be shot down if he asks you for a date. This can be very reassuring if a guy leans toward being introverted. Appeals to his male "predatory" nature that all men (shy or not) seem to possess thus giving him the opportunity to chase you after you ignore him. Lets him feel competitive. When you stop flirting with him, it looks like you might have started seeing someone else. And if he likes you, he'll drive himself crazy wondering who you're seeing and seize any opportunity to ask you for a date. Let's you move on gracefully if he's not taking the bait. If he's at all into you, even the most withdrawn guy in the world will come out of his shell if he wants to date you. Especially if you've given him clear signals that you are into him, and then withdraw your affection.

So basically, by simply acting flirty and affectionate, then withdrawing, you can test any man to see if he likes you or not. If he's into you and shy, he'll be reassured that you're up for a date. But, if he's not you can move on to greener pastures.
