Hospitals give me the heebie-jeebies to this day and forever more,
because it was there that she took her last breath and where I swore,
against God, religions, saints and sinners and those in between.
She was, after all, the first I had felt, heard, tasted, loved and seen.
My physical and mental states fit in the category of depression and anxiety,
and the descriptions of that day will further give birth to the acronyms of P.T.S.D.
We are expected by others and ourselves to fit nicely into such a defined cage!
We are not free nor infinite, and we are not without pain! Correct I'm not a sage!
We would rather disconnect and fill the void of a lost one with pills and/or pretenses
Than engage with those still around us; with enlightened and heightened senses.
A glutton for pain I may be, but when you need someone; which one of me would you rather see?

Your heart will be sold.
You'll be overcome, and you will mold like clay.
