A salt-crusted sidewalk
A seagull cries
Walking toward water
Awaiting sunrise
Shaking off the darkness
Wiping away the sleep
Wading through the waves
Getting in deep
Seeking baptism
A removal of soul stain
Looking for a cure
For this rot in my brain
Surrender to the sea
Or be renewed by the light?
Today I choose the sunrise
And live again for the fight

Wading
The radiant sphere of golden light, rises over the mountain worn.
The flowering buds spreading wide and opening husk of yellow
by Bryan Grant
A woven tapestry
of orange and red luminescence
sprawle d across a canvas
of purple velvet.
She hides behind a landscape
of mountains
High Spirits
I wake to see a sky smiling at me,
a mockingbird serenading a song...sardonically .
The sun's climbing above
Sweetly slanting tones bend through, each resplendent drop of dew,
peering through them life does too, assume a sweeter slant.
