If you tell the present generation to act professional, they would probably give you a confession instead. Most young people would not have a clue to the meaning of the word and how to apply it. This is sad because technology is suppose to advance a society, not send it back. There are also older people who do not know how to behave. We are living in a period where no one thinks things matter. We are now living in a society where everything is out in the open, nothing is sacred any more. If one person does it, we all do it. Did our problems begin with free drugs? American citizens were not always this tacky. Is it the fault of the parents? Will most parents even confess to such a crime? I doubt it. Most parents will tell you that they raised their children the best they could, and then blame society for their bad luck. When did we stop taking responsibility for our actions. Are we just plain giving up as a society? Can anyone control this madness and get everyone on the right path to moral righteousness? First of all, I do not think a lot of parents know how to raise a child. A child to them is a commodity to be used when necessary. When that commodity is no longer valuable to them, they abandon their rights as parents. Everyone should know that no matter what is going on around them, children are the number one assets. Children must be taught how to respect others, they must be taught how to dress, they must be taught how to use their anger in a positive way, they must be taught how to respect their environment, they must be taught how to use food to survive and not for pleasure, they must acquire education, they must be taught how to get involved as citizens, they must be taught not to make fun of people who are less fortunate than they are, they must be taught how to disagree in a positive way, and they must be taught to tell the truth. This is professionalism. It sounds simple and basic. Professionalism begins with the parent and child. The parent is teaching the child basic rules on how to survive. America is a society made up of many other cultures too. Those cultures do have some influence on us. A lot of the adults in those cultures do not speak English or they misinterpret the language the way they hear it. The immigrants mostly teach their children their culture and not the real American way of doing things.
The television set generates a lot of bad behaviour as well. Its main purpose is to inform and entertain us. It is not to be taken too seriously. No matter what happens, we must stand strong and teach others the art of professionalism. We can do this by walking gracefully with our heads raised high.
