Dance Flamenco

The light engulfs and swallows the barren stage

A performer wrangling with nervous uncertainty

The melody transports his current senses

He slowly unfolds, his rippled tension eases

A strummed seductress brings his fingers to a pose

His fervour builds; there is his life-in his stark white taps

The internal struggle is momentarily suffocated

Engulfed by the rising fire within

Dance Flamenco, embrace the moment

A short rendezvous in time to revel in

The crowd enthralled to witness his enrapture

Spill envious emissions from their parched, covetous lips

His movements build to heightened frenzy

Nothing shall impede or dampen his release

Flooded relief pours through his dilated pores

His impenetrable trance matches his racing pulse

Within his fury is a frenzied, runaway train

No one dares to intervene

Escalating like an erratic roller coaster

Controlled then wild, moving from peak to peak

Oh gratis the life of this solitary gypsy

Fire, red blood spilling from his veins
