Has anyone out there stopped to consider why it is so important to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to have a job that only pays $400,000 a year? That is a huge pay reduction for the Obama family. Michelle alone made over $300,000 with her job at the Chicago Hospital. So why? Power? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

Throughout the campaign you could hear both Barack Obama and John McCain claiming to be your public servant. Public Servant? The word servant usually does not invoke wealth and power, now does it? If these politicians are truly our public servants, shouldn't they be a little less wealthy and have a little less power. The so called "servants" pass laws and new regulations that only hinder the original American way and hinder your ability as a citizen to realize the American dream. What is happening now is a perfect example of our government gone awry. When our founding fathers first set up this government, to be a congressman, senator, or president was not a mean to becoming famous and wealthy. The politician was chosen by the people to represent the views of that community or as a real public servant. Now these legislators are more interested in the money and the power. So how can they ever truly represent the views of their loyal public? They make more money than the average person, so they have no idea what it truly means to struggle to make ends meet. They live lavish lifestyles, wear expensive clothing, dine in fancy restaurants, and travel abroad at will. How many of you can do that? Yet we allow this to continue completely unchecked. We continue to elect these people because they say that they care. Do you really think that they do? To me the only thing they really care about is lining their own wallets. All of these trillions of dollars that our government spends to help make your life better is your money and my money. The government in and of itself does not create money; it is taken from you the tax payer.
Look at this example for instance, our economy, the housing market, the auto industry, and Wall Street. All of these serious issues are a direct result of government interference in the free market. The housing market for example, the government forced banks and lending institutions to give home loans to those less qualified to own a home and with no money down. It used to be in this country that if you wanted to own your own home, you worked hard, scrimped and saved, and then bought
