I met this boy at 28

and really I thought it was much too late

to bring me to believe

that he wouldn't leave.

And months went by,

he never made me cry...no proof of lies, nothing to deny...

...it was destiny.

And so the summer days went on,

I carried on,

he and I moved along.

Endless nights,

never any fights,

everything's been right.

He'd hold my hand,

just like a man,

and he never seemed to pretend,

it was truth and

it was real and

so then came the speal of how all that was once real is now just a history...

...I have to let go?

Oh no...

...no no,

you just don't know,

you don't quite understand

that I don't stand for loving someone so

and just letting them go...you don't,

just don't know how to let go

when you know that there's more there than most have,

most have nothing,

but this is something and to me...

...a part of my everything...

...but that's just how I feel..

...how I feel...

...not what you think...but what do you feel?

Do you listen to your heart...

..separate it apart from that logic?

Logic and reasoning are not part of love,

it doesn't help rise above.

Love is not clear,

no rhyme,

no reason

and not always for pleasing....
