The Review of Daycare Nightmares: Mini-Monsters

Rating: 4/5

Monsters love babies, too! So they need a skilled day care worker in Monster Town. The goal of this game is to help Molly, the day care worker, tend to the cooing of baby ghosts who tend to scare their friends when they get mad, witches who play mean tricks, mini mummies, baby Kongs, werewolves and blobs all complete the circle of day care friends.

The game play is pretty repetitive. The only thing that changes is that you get more monsters added to your daycare each day. It is a lot of fun compared to other day care games in that these are not your average babies. They are cute little monsters. They graphics are average and the sounds are amazing.

You will learn early on in the game that taking care of mini monsters is not an easy task. You do get a thorough tutorial though in the beginning where you meet Mrs. Blob who lives in the neighborhood with all the monsters moving into town.

In the opening scene, Molly opens her Monster day care in an apartment. On your first day, you start out slow and only get a couple of blog babies dropped off. Your job is to basically take the babies when they arrive and place them on the mat to play while the other kids arrive. Throughout the day, your job will be to make the babies happy by tending to their needs. You will need to feed t hem, change them, put them for a nap and have them play with blocks. You will know what to do by the blurb that shows over them. If it shows a bottle, it means they are hungry, a diaper means they need to be changed, etc. When a door shows up over their head, it means that they are ready to be picked up. At the end of each day, you will see a chart that shows how much you made and how happy the monsters were when they came in and how happy they were when they left at the end of the day.

Day 2- You will get introduced to the vampire baby. She likes to bite Molly when she doesn't get her own way. After biting Molly, Molly becomes dizzy for a few seconds and has a tough time walking right. Babies gain extra happiness points when they play together. If your happy meter gets empty, you will lose a level. You make a happy baby by meeting all of its needs. If you don't make the monster baby happy, you lose happiness points.

Day 3- Today you are able to buy upgrades for your day care at the Curiosity Shop. There are also a lot more kids today. They come in and they come in fast. At the end of the day, the owner of the apartment, a mean Mummy, tells Molly she has 6 days to find a new place to hold her day care.

Day 4- There is a first aid station added today. Today is a very busy day as you will find that all the babies want everything at the same time. Your job is to figure out which monsters are more patient and which ones are not. Service the impatient ones first. Hint: the vampires are extremely impatient.

Day 5- Today your monsters become more demanding. There are monsters that will come in and out all day long so be sure you are on your toes. You will also notice some of the monsters fighting and not playing well together. You need to pick one of the babies up until they cool off and then set the baby down again.

Day 6- Another busy day with mini monsters coming and going all day and being very demanding on Molly.

Day 7- This was the last day I played in the demo. Ghost babies are introduced. When they are unhappy, they turn into a scary ghost and make the other monsters wet themselves.

All in all, it is a fun game to play.
