Winter wedding theme ideas

It starts at an early age, when we as females begin to fantasize about our dream wedding. We watch friends and family members organize their own, and we make a mental note of similar ideas and things we would do differently. And then finally, it is our turn, and there always seems like there is something that didn't go just quite right. So, even after the wedding, you still may catch yourself envisioning the perfect setting.

A winter wedding can be a Wonderland of itself. Here are a few winter themed ideas that you may be interested in:

FROST

This could be simple or extremely elegant, depending on how far you wish to go with the idea. An inside wedding is usually preferred during such a cold season, but it would be easy enough to bring some of the outside, in. Start with small decorations in the church or your home by misting the windows with snow spray. Tulle is a fabric typically used in weddings and is easily mixed with clear lights to give a sweet glow to the room. This would also complement the theme quite well. Instead of spring flowers, use white poinsettias for floral arrangements. Use a white arch or tall columns with a white board connecting the pieces at the top. Dress them with more tulle and clear lights as well as glass or plastic icicles to hover over the bride and groom as they declare their wedding vows. Add an ice sculpture or two, maybe of a tree, angel, or snowflake. Even if it is a bright and sunny day on the outside, the atmosphere will simulate a frosty morning.

SILVER BELLS

If you've set the date closer to Christmas, you may want to adorn appropriately, however, there needs to be a little more than the typical Christmas decor: greenery with red poinsettias and gold or silver ribbons. One of the most beautiful sounds during this time of year are the songs that are played with hand bells. You may know someone that has this talent. You could keep some of the traditions of a customary wedding, and put your own spin on it. Have the usual Wedding March played - with hand bells instead of an organ or piano. Round bells can also be a stunning ornament for floral arrangements. Bells are not unusual symbols to include in a wedding. Wedding bells were rung in old superstition to ward off bad luck. Bells have also been rung as the bride and groom were leaving to announce to the community of the union that had just occurred. More currently, two wedding bells are united with a bow on top symbolizing the marriage and love the couple share. Bells can be easily found on invitations and as cake toppers.
