When considering the varieties of houseplants that can't be killed, the biggest consideration is the conditions you have to place that plant in. As long as the plant or plants you wish to grow are suited to the conditions you have, you have eliminated one of the biggest problems people face when choosing plants. The other requirements I think of when I am thinking about plants that are most difficult to kill are the water needs of the plant. If a plant only needs to be watered occasionally, doesn't need to be fertilized and can survive periods of neglect, I'd consider it one that is clearly difficult to kill.
Chinese Evergreen is ideal for places with limited light. It only needs to be watered when the soil is dry. That can be determined by sticking your finger down into it. Over time, they will become pot bound, but once re-potted, they will do very well.
Dieffenbachia is adaptable to various light conditions. It does best without direct bright light. Water it weekly and it should grow well. Since Dieffenbachia can grow tall, it will need supports once it starts to get tall. It too can become pot bound, but that won't happen until the plant is fairly large.
Pathos, also known as Devil's Ivy is very easy to grow. It is ideal for low light conditions, doesn't need fertilizer and only needs water when the soil is dry. Philodendron, another vine that is similar to pathos is also easy to grow, and its requirements are the same as that of pathos.
Aloe Vera is a succulent that is very easy to grow. As long as you can give it bright light, it will survive long periods without water. It too can tolerate neglect. Eventually, you will find that your aloe plant has multiplied. Once this happens, you will want to divide the sections and plant them in different pots.
Christmas cacti are very easy to grow. They thrive best in bright or filtered light. Since they are cacti, they can survive without water for quite some time. They too will tolerate considerable neglect.
Bromeliads (plants like pineapples,) are very easy to grow. Since they have shallow root systems, they don't like to sit in wet soil. Some varieties like very bright, direct light, others will tolerate shade. Since they don't demand water frequently, they are very easy to grow.
Lucky Bamboo is great for people who don't want to have to fuss a lot with a plant. Bamboo typically grows in water, so there is no need to fret about pots or soil. Put the bamboo in a vase or ceramic container that is tall enough to support
