These marks upon my face,
have been imposed by my tears,
Yesterday brought the dreaded moment,
Where I faced my worst fears.
It's now cold where I exist,
I'm hiding within my shell,
I'll heal these wounds silently,
While waiting for time to tell.
This is the story of my life,
Can't have what I deserve,
And the piece of my heart you have,
Will always be put on reserve.
Once again my dreams are shattered,
That scorching pain, it has returned,
I let you inside way too fast,
To learn it only gets me burned.
But as I said before,
If this turns out as not what it seems,
I'll close my eyes, under these blue skies,
And continue to dream my dreams!
I don't quite understand your choice,
Just how your love has changed,
But the loss of my lover, my best friend,
Has me feeling quite estranged.
