In my childhood innocence,
I tested your boundaries.
I unintentionally wandered through your limits,
and in doing so was able to grasp the ambit of your discipline.
I admire your ability to remain calm when I was young,
and I'm constantly searching within myself for that virtue.
Your cache of knowledge, would over time deluge my own interests,
forever shaping,
forever influencing my every thought.
Your devotion to grandmother was unabated throughout time,
and your overall love for her was inspiring to say the least.
In retrospect, your marriage to life and woman is all I hope for.
I hope to fulfill my dreams using the same convictions as you.
To be honest,
loving,
carefree,
alive!
Your great-grandchild is named after you,
and it pains me that you don't know it.
You have left us,
a pioneer in a new unknown existence.
I'm sure your attributes and ethos will follow you to the other side,
and in doing so exemplify your enduring legacy.
I promise they will know who you were,
and will know the many great things you've done.
I imagine you sitting there,
a comfortable chair,
wood to whittle.
The operatic music and romantic lyrics enveloping the room.
The large reels of tape turning,
wisping slightly,
almost silent,
fading to a stop,
a compounded trope of life and love,
forever haunting and uplifting,
forever,
you will live.

Poetry: In honor of my grandfather
Old man you were strong as steel
Old man you we’re stubborn too
A touch crazy but we loved you
Old man you faded
A tower of strength!
That was how I saw you
Until the day you left us
You were our leader too.
A teacher you were
In life and
From the day that I was given birth,
Till the day that man stops walking the earth.
I knew my fate when I came into this world,

The Best Man I Ever Knew
I took you for granted,
the best man I ever knew.
What I wouldn't give,
just to see you.
