No matter who you are or what your style preference is, every woman wants to look acceptable on her wedding day, whether it is on Halloween or any other day of the year. But what is acceptable? Anything you want it to be. If you want to have all of your wedding party dress up as vampires and werewolves in a Twilight theme, then that's your prerogative, or you may prefer to try a more traditional wedding. The question is: How should you wear your make up?
All of the previous decisions you've made molds how your make up should be worn. Here are a few make up tips:
CASUAL
For a casual wedding, be so bold as to be yourself. Most likely, you chose this type of ceremony because it would make you more comfortable anyway. Feel okay about using your normal make up pattern. You may wear black eyeliner in a Cleopatra-style with long, thick black eyelashes and bold red lipstick, or you may not wear make up at all. Be confident in who you are, after all, that's who your groom fell in love with.
SEMI-FORMAL
You may have decided to try a more formal style wedding, but still clutch on to a little bit of yourself. Possibly, you have created a new spin on your wedding by inverting the traditional colors of the wedding. Instead of the bride dressed in white and the groom in black, you could wear an elegant black gown, and have your groom wear a white suit with a black necktie. This type of wedding as well as formal-wear would need a more dynamic look when working with your make up. Start with using foundation that is a shade or two lighter than your normal skin color. Shade your eyes from a lighter grey to a dark black by using grey or silver eyeshadow with a hint of a lavender hue, charcoal grey eyeliner, and finally a jet black mascara. Use a light shade of pink to give your face some color. Normally with a dynamic look, you would use a lighter shade of pink for lip color as well, but if you prefer, go ahead and throw some of your boldness in and use that blood-red lipstick that you love so much.
FORMAL
For a traditional, formal ceremony, your make up would normally consist more of neutral colors: browns, oranges, or mauves. Actually these colors would complement a fall wedding as well. I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "Less is more," most likely from your mother. Well, as much as we hate to admit it, sometimes they're right. Try a dark orange eye shadow, lined with a light brown, brown eyeliner, and brownish black mascara. Color your cheeks with a bronze rouge, and your lips with a nude liner and lipstick. Use a clear lipbalm for a glossy finish.
I would recommend testing your makeup a day or two before the wedding, so that you are not pressed for time and find that the combination you choose, was not as perfect as you had originally hoped. And if all else fails, call your local beautician.
