Fayetteville Technical Community College is a two year school that has the academic level of a four year school. If you live in North Carolina and plan on getting your bachelorette degree but for an unseen reason that is out of your control, you did not get accepted into the school that you really want to attend then FTCC might just be for you.
For FTCC to only have associate degree programs, many people expect the curriculum to not be very demanding. This is wrong! FTCC has a curriculum that is extremely demanding not only for a two year school but it is even demanding for a four year school. The reason behind a curriculum that is so demanding is to have their students that plan on transferring to a four year school are prepared for the demands that are required from these schools. FTCC has one of the highest transfer rates for two year schools in North Carolina.
The admissions process at FTCC can be aggravating at times. Some of the admissions staff don't seem like they want to go above and beyond what is required of them to help students out. Once you get the initial admissions finished the staff seems to have a much different attitude. The Financial aid office is the same as admissions. Some of the staff is ready and willing to help you out in any way possible, but the rest of the staff seems to have somewhat of a "whatever" attitude. The Financial aid office does get your applications processed in a very efficient manner. Many students get their award letters in as little as four weeks.
FTCC is located just minutes from Fort Bragg, which is one of the bigger military bases in the nation. With a military base so close, the VA office is a big factor for many students who are receiving funds from the military. FTCC's VA office has a staff that helps the students as much as possible. All paper work gets processed in a timely manner and they will help student fill out their paper work.
Once you get your admissions and financing complete, you need to see a student advisor to get your student education plan. Once you reach this step in the registration process, all of the faculty you encounter are willing to help the students out. Now that you have your student education plan it is time to enroll in the classes for your first semester.
Registration can be done either at the school or through FTCC's web advisor. If you chose to register at the school, it would be smart of you not to wait until the last minute to do this. Go as soon as registration opens. If you wait
