If you're a fan of Sims Castaway or Virtual Villagers, then you'll thoroughly enjoy playing My Tribe by Grubby Games. This game is loaded with tons more features than the other games and contains hours of enjoyment that will be sure to be a hit with the whole family.
Finding themselves shipwrecked and stranded on a tropical island with little shelter or food, you need to guide your villagers to learn new skills and to eventually construct an island paradise.
Activities on the island are numerous, from building shelter, gathering wood and food to learning science and agriculture for the advancement of the entire tribe. Unlike other games of this nature, there are many helpful tools along the way that help your tribe gather vital supplies for their village.
You'll find that playing My Tribe is not boring as there are many options and activities available to the player to keep you interested. Characters can be assigned a name of your choice and we get to learn about their individual personalities, thought and their feelings through continuing commentary throughout the play.
My Tribe is very easy to navigate due to the clear options available to the player on the screen. You can easily switch from character to character, choose different activities to perform and interaction of your tribes people is easier through a click and drag motion.
Accompanied by beautiful and relaxing tribal music and sounds that range from waves lapping on the shore to beautiful birds taking flight, My Tribe has truly excelled. The only area in which sounds flounder are those made by the characters, which are minimal.
Another area where My Tribe has excelled is with the graphics. Your virtual tribe people have distinguishing features that allow a player to easily discern each characters mood. There is no need to ensure they're eating, sleeping and resting because once you've given them the tools to live, they will do many of these actions on their own.
The graphics of the island itself are excellent, from the larger details of built shelters, the trees and the water, to the more minute details of birds, flowers and seashells. A wild thunderstorm may hit your tropical island once in a while, which leaves you wanting to seek shelter from the rain and thunder, just like the people in the tribe.
Accompanied by island birds eating, a fish diving and clear instruction for the player, My Tribe is a massive improvement on other games of this kind. By defining some of the more minute details and giving a player more options for extended game play, the creators of this game have allowed their creativity to flourish and makes My Tribe one that is similar yet better than other games of this type. I recommend the purchase of this game.
Rating for My Tribe by Grubby Games = 4.5/5
