I have a top 10 of my all time favorites.
1. John Madden- I know the first thing most people would say is but that's coach. It is true that John Madden only had one year of pro-ball and he was sidelined with an injury and never put on the active roster of the 1960 Eagles. When giving props to greatest players of all time he for real has to have it.
2. Brett Farve- This guy is a machine. He plays hurt and never stops. Breaks record after record and keeps coming back for more.
3. Joe Montana- I have to give it up for my JOE he is the guy that brought my niners victory after victory and insured my place as a fan for eternity. He had 8 pro-bowls and was drafted when i was only 5 years old in 1979. Out of Notre Dame home of football.
4. Dan Marino- This guy is impressive to. Not a personal fan and have spent many years talking trash about his accomplishments, I should not have as he was a great player and still holds many records. Dan marino has 9 pro-bowls under his belt and for real I have to have mad respect for a man that retires in the jersey he wore his entire career.
5. Olindo Mare- He is a ten year vetran and is almost always accurate he has missed a few in recent history but htere is something about this guy I really like. You can tell from the look on his face how much he enjoys playing the game.
6. Jerry Rice- Big Daddy, With 13 pro-bowls he is quite likely my favorite of all football players of all time. He holds the record at 1549 receptions. 197 touchdown receptions, and just being an all around good guy.
7 Terry Bradshaw- Does anybody think that this guy is anything less than magnificent. Drafted in 1971 three years before I was ever born. He retired in 1983 only to immediatly become a game anylist he has had movie parts and just keeps goign strong
8. Zach Thomas- 7 pro-bowls and is proof that human do make good walls. He is agil and makes play after play after play. A all around good guy. not to mention he owns a health club in Amarillo, Texas called Zach's club 54 showing that fitness is imprtant to him on and off the field.
9- Jason Taylor- You can't mention Zach Thomas without mentioning his counter part. Jason Taylor has he is responsible for 106 sacks and is a force to be reckoned with on the field.
10. Otto Graham- sadly graham died in 03'. One of the things that makes these palyers great is we didn't have the gear that we have today. These guys played with full on hits and sometimes full on career ending injuries. Otto Graham played for the cleveland browns from 1946 to 1955 and then went on to coach the redskins. He was drafted into the NFL and then had to leave to serve his country in war and came back. One of the vetrans of old and a real American hero.
