Autumn Illusions of Gratitude
Leaves of ginger, lemon, and orange
Pumpkin spice glitters all around
Weaved like magic through branches
A graceful dance as they hit the ground
Perfect shapes like cookie cutter art
Embellished with the dew of the dawn
Charming piles of summer memories
Adorning sidewalks, street, and lawn
The smell of autumn rides the breeze
Bringing glad tidings to the heart
As I sit in my chair and do as I please
Baking pumpkin pie and an apple tart
My window frosted with the oven steam
The candles on the mantle flicker free
My welcome mat sports autumn leaves
Wandering who will come to visit me
