As we all know, 2008 is a special year in the history of our country. It is an election year and for the first time since 1928 the incumbent vice president is not a leading candidate for the next presidency. This could cause much disruption in the way our country is being run, totally different from the last term. Depending on which of the five candidates running gets elected, will outline how our country will be run, the major changes that will occur in our country, and how citizens of the United States live. In eight months, the people of America will decide who our Commander-in-Chief will be.
Both the Republican and Democratic Parties of America, have yet to decide which candidate will represent them in the upcoming election. Governor Mike Huckabee, Senator John McCain, and Ron Paul are all vying for the Republican nominee. However, John McCain is the front runner and is leading all other candidates by more than 900 delegates. On the Democratic side, Senator Barack Obama and former First Lady Hilary Clinton are running neck and neck for the nomination. Even though they both are close in the amount of delegates, Barack Obama looks to be the nominee due to his recent wins in key swing states and increased popularity among citizens of all states. No matter which candidate each party nominates, the President-elect will run the Administration based on the platforms and beliefs their parties are governed by.

McCain believes that taxes should be low, very simple, and fair to all citizens. In his tax plan, he will repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax Law, saving the hard-working, middle class citizens an average of $2700 per year. John also believes that taxes on business should be low, securing more businesses and increasing job security for American citizens. The last part of his tax plan is to make it more difficult to raise taxes, by requiring a three-fifths Congress majority vote to raise taxes. His beliefs on taxes is one of the many reasons on why McCain and the Republicans deserve to run our country from 2008-2012.
Another reason that all Americans should vote for Senator John McCain is because of his stance on Border Security and Immigration Reform. Just as most
