God calls us back to the basics of following Him. He says to us, "Come after Me and follow me!" Luke 9:23 declares " Then Jesus said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me." God desires that we walk our Christian walk and talk our Christian talk by being near to Him, and being more like Him. He calls us back to the basics of His Word and His standards. The psalmist said in Psalms 119:11, "Your Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the entire Bible. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel and I will make an altar there to God who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone."
God wants to come back to Bethel. Bethel was God's place. It was at Bethel that Jacob saw the vision of angels ascending and descending on a ladder. It was
