William: Happy Birthday my sweet Angel.

Millie: You never forgot my birthday once in 70 years.

William: I remember the first time i saw you Millie, (laughs) you were such a tomboy with that cap on your head. Skinny little legs and bony arms, but the minute that cap fell off you took my breath away. Long golden brown hair cascading down your back like honey and eyes that touched my soul. But I knew Millie, the moment you flashed that sweet sixteen year old smile, I knew you were the girl I was going to call my wife.

Millie: You were the new boy in town that all the girls were talking about. I was too interested in baseball to notice, but when I did decide to look up, I guess thats when i became a girl and lost the tomboy. You were the most handsome boy I had ever seen, and you still are. Do you remember the first words you said to me Will?

William: Of course i do, i said" Miss Millie right? You are the first girl Ive ever seen hit a ball like that".

(giggles)Millie: Oh Will, such a life we have had, and through it all you have held my had and smiled with me. When baby Ava was born, you were a right mess and had no idea what you were doing, but you kept smiling. When Billy was born, you went out and bought him a baseball bat, and were so proud that you had a son. When the Ellie and Jack were born, we looked around the room at our four amazing gifts and cried. We were a family.

William: My darling Millie, all my life I have wanted to be the strongest man for you and now i'm afraid I wont be able to show you that. How will my life go on from here? How can I live a life without you?

Dr Reed: Mr.Barton, have you contacted your family?

William: Yes I have, they are all on their way. Please help me understand Doctor, she seems so healthy, she is chatting to me like we did when we were 16 years old, I really don't understand.

Dr Reed: I'm so sorry Mr. Barton, I know this is extremely painful for you. We are all amazed at how strong her mind is and we truly believe that is due to the love that surrounds her.It is literally taking her pain away, and we have never seen anything like this. Unfortunately her poor body is cancer ridden, and as you know she doesn't have a lot of time. The priest will be here soon to bless her.

Millie: William? Before I go, I need to say something. I want to thankyou for giving me such a wonderful life, for giving me a beautiful family, and most of all for loving me for the last 70 years. You are my best friend and i love you dearly.

William:(tears form) Millie, this earth will never be the same without your smile brightening everyone's day, I truly love you.

Millie: I need you to do something for me. Please don't cry. You can cry for me when I'm gone. All our lives we have persevered and soldiered on through tough times by thinking of better times and smiling. I want you to keep smiling with me till the end.

William: Even in the darkest of hours you are my tower of strength. May the angels protect you with their wings my sweet Millicent.
