The Witnesser
Chapter 1
A twisted tormented soul he was. A man who no other man envied. Someone who has seen more, heard more, felt more pain than one could possibly imagine. He was a normal man once. But he left humanity centuries ago. Now he is something else. Something that no sane man could be. He is the Witnesser, and his story stretches longer than any mortal man's.
Joseph Smythe, was a kind man. Born in 1596, he had a loving family. He worked hard every night. He never had to deal with other peoples' problems. He kept to himself and he was a better person for it. He lived in the rural shoreline community of Ambershire.
Now this village didn't look all too different from your run of the mill farm community, but it held dark secrets. An ancient foreboding crypt stood not to far from the farmlands. Said to be the home of Rahovart, an ancient demon, the whole village was warned by the village church to stay away from it. Every night, wails and cries of pain would emerge from the crypt north of town. Sounds of anguish and pain echoed through the air. The village folk were very superstitious. Many even moved south to the town of Chestwood, where the sun actually does shine, and the looming fear of dread is no longer hanging over them.
One bitter and cold night, Joseph Smythe arrived to his humble home after working long and hard on the hayfields, only to discover that no one was home. His two children, his wife were all apparently missing. He ventured into the kitchen only to be overwhelmed by a horrid smell. Something was moving around the wooden table. He carefully peaked around the wooden table only to see a grotesque abomination, feasting on spilt blood on the floor.
It was a disturbing sight. This creature was appeared as an armless human, with a body made entirely out of scar tissue, wrapped in strips of what appear to be thorns. It used a sharp serpent-like tongue that came out of it's twisted tooth filled maw to lap up the blood on the floor. The corpse it was eating from was far too mutilated to be identified. Shocked in horror. Jospeh pulled an axe off a mantle by the fireplace, and swung it madly and the creature. Streams of black tar-like blood sprayed from the creature, as it went through spasms like some kind of painful seizure.
Once the creature was dead, Joseph noticed a piece of parchment plastered on the wooden table. It read "The Two Sacraments have been found. The Divine Darkness will consume all who stand in our way. Only the blood of
