Have you ever had a Purple Cow?
Milkshakes have always been a weakness of mine. I come by it naturally though as milkshakes were a staple in the diets of my father and grandmother as well. It makes me wonder if there is a milkshake gene that hasn't been discovered yet.
One of the earliest milkshakes that I ever remember having was a Purple Cow. As an adult, it is not one of my favorites but I did love it when I was young. I think that most kids do like them. After all, how cool is it to have a Purple Cow?!
Purple Cow
Serves four
Ingredients:
2 cups milk
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 cup grape juice
Whipped cream
Maraschino cherries
Directions:
1. Combine the milk, grape juice, and ice cream in a blender and blend at high speed until well mixed.
2. Pour into four tall glasses.
3. Garnish with whipped cream and cherries.
If you would prefer to have a Pink Cow you can substitute cranberry juice for the grape juice.
Enjoy!
