RIDE DOWN THE "ROUGH ROAD"
Category: Life
Ever wonder what life would be like if there were no worries or stressful times? How about the ever so dreadful expenses in this life, and what it would be like not to have that burden? Or, never facing crisis whether it be physical, spiritual, financial, and/or emotional? All of us at some point wish life was that easy. For some folks it is, and there is no doubt that there are some of you reading this and can sit back and think to yourself, " I'm glad I don't have that problem." Maybe you have never had many worries in your life, and maybe you have the finest of everything, and that is truly great if you have been blessed in that way and you have a clear path down the "easy road." But...I would like to take this time to share with you some experiences down the "rough road." Yes, I am talking about one that has potholes, bends and gravel. Here are some examples of life on the "rough road."
1. One without heat in the winter
2. A person with no will to live
3. Bills to pay and no money to pay them
4. Those who are homeless
5. A child with no winter coat or good shoes
6. Standing in line for assistance for food, clothing and/or shelter
7. Abuse and neglect
8. Incurable illness
9. Facing constant chaos, anger, strife, conflict, and negativity throughout life
10. Drug addiction
These are just a few examples of how some folks live. Now, some will say that it is by choice, and granted for some it is, but for some it's not. And if you have ever been down this road and felt the effects of it's roughness, you know exactly what I mean. If you are struggling in life and traveling down this road, just remember to keep going because while your traveling so many are right there with you. They may not have hit the same pothole as you have, but the one's they hit are just as deep. What is amazing about this rough road, and not evident during a great part of it's distance is that you are becoming much stronger and less fearful with each mile. Even these roads have rest areas at some point, and you will find much strength here. This is where you gain from experience, realize where you are and where you want to be, look back and wonder how you made it thus far, and look forward to moving forward.
You just might be surprised that even though your trip may not be smooth and easy, it will always be more memorable. For all the folks that feel like you can't go anymore, or you feel like giving up, don't give in to fear. Know that God will provide for you, and there is no such thing as coincidence. No matter what you are facing, your strong enough to overcome, you just have to be willing to move on. Life may not always be easy, but so many good things come to those who least expect it. The one's that have struggled and wished for the smooth ride instead of the rough, will one day be traveling and unexpectedly cross over to smooth pavement. How can this be? You kept on going!
There is always someone that will be willing to accept you no matter how rough you look, what your situation, or state of mind. I think I'm going to keep traveling this road for a while, it's rather challenging, and I have met some of the most beautiful people here. Some have helped me when I was stuck in a ditch, and I have helped some while passing by. Either way...I'm not alone, and neither are you, unless you choose to be. If your on this "rough road", know that your surrounded by many traveling the same one, and you may find smoothness before them, or it may be that they do, or you may cross paths at the same time...who knows, just keep on going.
