Lesson of Love
Here is a story of a love gone bad,
About a girl left alone and sad.
She only searched for one single thing,
An honest lover to wear her ring.
Blinded by this sour fate,
Her love for him was soon turned to hate.
Quickly and painfully it ended in dismay,
Her lover told her he could not stay.
She yearns to regain her lost heart,
Trying to hide the broken part.
Slowly she'll heal, and love once again,
Only next time she won't jump right in.
She has grown and become very strong,
Her fragile heart is now ready to move on.
A barrier hides the scars of her past,
And she does not respond to those who ask,
"Whatever happened to what's his name?"
She has learned she'll never be the same.
Her heart will always need affection,
But she's headed in the right direction.
She keeps her head up and remains strong and proud,
She now rules her life, and dons the crown.
Though she appears alone and afraid,
She's made peace with the price she's paid.
Her future continues to shine yet much brighter,
Because this girl has become a fighter.
As a fighter she stands a winner,
She's no expert but she's no beginner.
Mediocre and content with life,
She knows that someday she'll be a wife.
The right man will soon happen by,
He'll cause not a tear to meet her eye.
Exactly what she's always dreamed of,
An honest lover who donates his love.
She has grown and now understands,
That love is a gift sent straight from God's hands.
Patience is a virtue to those who know,
And love is a reward to those who show,
Who they really are, and how much they care.
She will never again receive a blank stare.
She is full of honor and armed with truth,
She has no reason to hide her roots.
Finally she's comfortable being honest and open,
Because she knows she can finally stop hoping.
Someone will come and carry her away,
Far from pain and sad dismay.
Somewhere, someday, he'll rescue her,
She'll be waiting strong and aware.
She remains protected by her experience,
And now thanks "what's his name" for such grievance.
She's learned this lesson long and well,
Love takes time, and time will tell.

Would you breathe for me,
Or would that be too complicated?
