The Gift of Faith
The mouth of Zachariah had been deafeningly still
For fear and doubt had been his last meal.
Gabriel, the angel, came with amazing news to share -
One was coming before Jesus who the aged Elizabeth would bear.
Elizabeth never doubted that the baby she would carry
Would lead the way for Jesus and the ministry he would marry.
God filled John with the spirit so holy,
Though great among men, he remained benevolently lowly.
As Jesus' mother, Mary, told of the coming of her boy,
John, still in Elizabeth's womb, gave a great leap of joy.
Always knowing and thankful that God had blessed her son,
Elizabeth was never desirous that John was not "The One".
Elizabeth was faithful, relying on God.
She followed His command and named her son John.
John's entire existence was devoted to the savior.
He revealed his love for Jesus through his everyday behavior.
When relatives questioned Elizabeth's choice of a name
Zachariah confirmed with tablet that he wanted the same.
Instantly the Holy Spirit inhabited his life.
He, then, had the faithfulness of Elizabeth, his wife.
Jesus was born and crucified for all of our sakes.
Whether or not to accept God's gift is a choice you each make.
Zachariah's family chose to accept what God gives.
God is hoping your choice is to believe that He lives.

God show me your mercy
As only you can do
Fill me with your strength and forgiveness
And open the doors I need
I am a Christian proud and tall
But ever day I feel my pain
my faith begins to fall
I love him for he is the one and only

Who is it that blends the colours on the palette?
